Well, I've written the first chapter of my new romantic suspense. I'm vera excited about this story. It's different than anything I've done before and involves more research than I realized, but I'm really excited about it and hope to turn it into a series. As always, I'm freaking out that I won't be able to write the amount of words I've planned. Is anyone else like that? It isn't until about page 150 that I feel a sense of being able to 'make it'. Obviously I'm not talking about my novellas, but for all my full lengths, I experience this sense of impending doom until I hit a certain point in the story. I think I'm afraid the words will just stop and I'll completely run out of ideas. So far it hasn't happened, but I have nightmares at the thought. Does anyone else go through that or am I a lone freak?ETA: Don't forget about my contest. Ends tomorrow!

I totally get that - I have the same fears. I start getting nervous around the 20k mark. But you'll make it;-)
Well I'm not a write so can't say that I have the same fears but I DO know your work and I think it will all be fine. I think once you get into your groove and the story starts flowing it won't be an issue. :)
Lol Dara, I remember having this conversation with you the other day :)
Thanks Tracy, that's such a sweet thing to say. You totally made my day!
Luckily, I don't endure that sense of doom b/c all I write is full-length. My TWRP short story seemed like the blink of an eye to create and edit. I wish you the best at hitting your word count with too much doom :)
Nope, not alone and not a freak.
I do it as soon as the first scene rolls through my head.
But I put my fingers on the keyboard and soldier on. I always get there in the end but sometimes the journey is a rough one.
Fingers crossed yours goes smoothly.

Just put your characters in a room and let them talk. That's what I do -- just ask Dara. You might end up cutting most of it, but you'll be moving forward.
Okay so I'm not publish but Lordie do I face that issue every damn time I write LOL. You can do it! I know you can and I can't wait to read the new SERIES!!!!
