It's Official!

It's official, I'll be moving in less than a month! We found the perfect renters for our house and now we just have to find a place to rent. If we don't, I'm going to be homeless come mid-May. I don't care if it's perfect as long as it has A/C and Internet capability. Though I am partial to anything with hardwood/laminate floors. Even before we bought our place the house we rented right after we got married was this really cute house with real hardwood floors. It was built in the 1920's, it didn't stay warm in the winter, and I'm convinced it was haunted but I loved that little house.

I started packing up more books last night but found an old school Linda Howard (Heartbreaker) and ended up abandoning boxes and packing tape in favor of reading. I swear, her stuff doesn't get old. I've got plenty of time to pack anyway ;) I've enlisted my mom's help in packing up the kitchen next weekend so I'm sure we'll knock that out fairly quickly. She's a packing pro and super organized in everything she does.

Over the weekend I went to see the movie Date Night w/ my friend Jax (who's also a writer) and when the 'turning point' in the movie happened I automatically leaned over and said 'and that's the inciting incident'. It was the first time in a while that someone didn't stare at me like I was weird. Sometimes I say stuff like that to my other friends or family w/out thinking and get an odd stare. The hubby is used to it though so I don't censor myself with him, lol. I also realized that I'm at the halfway point in my current WIP. Now I just need to kick it up a notch. I'd like to finish or at least get within 10K of finishing by the time we move.

What did everyone else do this weekend?

Woohoo! Keeping my fingers crossed you find something ASAP!

My girls had their end of season awards picnic for cheer, and a b-day party. The weather was warm so we enjoyed a lot of time outside, which is great since it's supposed to rain again tomorrow. Boo!

Good for you! Hope you find something you love.

Linda Howard's awesome, and an auto buy for me.

Spent the weekend purging the house of clothes, linens and toys before we could drown in them. Whew, that felt good! Then we had our new neighbors over for dinner last night with their kids. It's a couple months overdue, but they appreciated the effort :)

Sadly, no writing for me this weekend, and I've got a few more articles to write before I can even think of working on my WIP.

Good luck! We found a house and are going through the last stages of closing. We should be moved in by the 28th (hope so, because that's when we gave notice on our apartment rental). Of course, I just talked to the movers, and our "Stuff" might not arrive until May 3rd.

Next will be replacing all the "Stuff" we didn't bring with us! We're virtually starting from scratch.

I hope you find a terrific place with everything you want. Despite teaching a workshop on Saturday, I got loads of writing done - yay!
If you can't find a spot for some of those books, I'd be happy to take some off your hands;-)

Wynter, I've actually started a pile for you *g* I have a feeling you probably already have half of them, lol!

Are you staying in the area? Good luck with the move. They're not the most fun, but I'm sure you'll get through it just fine.

great news on the renters! That was fast!
I kind of enjoy the purging of moving. taking carloads to good will, and starting fresh!

Kristen, yep, it's out of the area. I'm moving north to live in The South ;)

Congrats on the pending move. I hate packing but moving to a new town is always exciting.
