Happy Friday!

After 'the big move' I knew it would be a process settling in and finding a new dentist, doctor, nail salon, etc. Finally after months and dealing with awful awful places, I've officially found the perfect place to get waxed. This weekend is my hubby's ten year high school reunion so I decided to get a pedicure. Since my last awful experience with facial waxing I've been hesitant to search out a new place, but decided to set up the apt. in addition to the pedicure since I was going to be there anyway. Seriously, nothing could be worse than the last place I went to unless they'd poured hot wax all over my face and left it.

This place was freaking perfect! I should have known when I drove up and realized it wasn't a typical salon but an older two-story Colonial style home that's been renovated. The place was incredibly chic and everything about the aesthetician right down to her lovely Russian accent was soothing. Usually I'll leave with a throbbing face but not this time. I'm in heaven! I know it's a small thing but finding someone who can wax my face without making me want to cry is a big deal! A great start to the weekend!

I also found a perfect LBD (thank you Coco Chanel!) tucked away in the back of my closet I forgot I had so I don't even have to go shopping for the reunion.

Deadly Fear - Out Now!

Yesterday was Cynthia Eden's release day!! You probably know her from her super sexy paranormals. Now she's writing romantic suspense and Deadly Fear is her first release from Grand Central.

What's this hot story about?

TWO BRILLIANT AGENTS

FBI Special Agent Monica Davenport has made a career out of profiling serial killers. But getting inside the twisted minds of the cruel and the sadistic has taken its toll: She’s walled herself off from the world. Yet Monica can’t ignore fellow agent Luke Dante, the only man who ever broke through her defenses.

ONE DREAM TEAM

Luke has the unique ability to put victims at ease…professionally, he and Monica made a perfect team. Now they’re reunited to catch a murderer who uses his victims’ deepest, darkest fears for sport - but their investigative skills aren’t enough. Luke and Monica will have to face the secrets from their past, the ones that terrify them the most, if they are to have a future together.

But can they catch a killer whose weapon is…DEADLY FEAR?

Sounds good right! My copy still hasn't arrived but it's on the way! Where can you find this? Amazon or Barnes & Noble. (It's also available at a bunch of other bookstores, I just don't have the links)

I hope you check it out! Not only is Cynthia incredibly sweet, she's also incredibly talented! I'm so looking forward to her dive into my fave genre, romantic suspense.

Yay for Monday!

I'm so glad it's Monday! Wait, did I actually say that? My husband needed help with research this weekend for one of his school projects so that's what we did most of Saturday and all of Sunday. Boring research! And not even the kind that will help me with writing. As a rule I actually kinda like the research aspect of things but this dealt with data, statistics (blech!) and a bunch of other nonsense that was coma-inducing. At least he's finally got what he needs to finish his paper though.

Since that took up the majority of my fun-filled weekend I didn't get much writing done. A bit of editing but nothing new made it onto the pages. We took a break on Saturday to see Salt and even though the man didn't want to like the movie, he did! (He grudgingly admitted it at the end.) There wasn't much dialogue, a lot of action, and there were some very small things I noted after the movie that tied in to the plot and main character that were well done. They all added to some surprisingly complex layering. Since it would be impossible to mention any of it without giving away spoilers, I'll save that for another blog when the movie has been out for a while. Did you see it this weekend? What did you think?

Friday!

How is it Friday already? I feel like I did NOTHING this week. I know I did b/c my word count went up but it's definitely been a weird week and I'm not exactly sure why. Nerves maybe? I'm waiting (shocking!) on some writing stuff so that's probably why. Sometimes the longer it gets--and by my impatient writer standards sometimes a week seems like forever, lol--the more antsy I get.

Oh well, it's Friday and I'm stoked! Why? Salt comes out tonight! The man doesn't really want to go b/c he doesn't care for Angelina Jolie which I think is slightly insane b/c I have a small massive girl crush on her. He's more into the wholesome girl next door look but I think the real reason he doesn't want to go is b/c he secretly digs Jennifer Aniston but whatever, we're seeing the movie! Since the first preview I've been dying for this goodness and it's finally here. Other than that, I'm strapping myself down in front of the computer and editing, editing, editing this weekend! Yes, my life is exciting. Don't hate too much. And for all you ladies going to Nationals next week, I'm totally hating, lol.

News!

In case you haven't noticed my blog header has changed thanks to Jax Cassidy. She also updated my website and my alter ego's website. I don't think she's taking any more clients at this time but here's here design site anyway: http://jaxadoradesign.com/ She's an amazing friend and I'm so thankful to have her in my life. I still can't believe she took the time to do all this for me :) Hugs to you, Jax!

In addition to those changes, I have awesome news! You might have seen this posted on Divas but if not, last Friday I received a call from Angela James offering me a contract with Carina Press! To say I'm stoked would be a serious understatement. When I saw the number on my cell I thought it was this annoying security company that keeps calling. So glad I was wrong! My editor emailed me yesterday so I figured it was okay to officially post the news here. I have a tentative release date of February 2011 but obviously anything could change. I'll post more details on the story itself later.

Oh, I almost forgot until I saw my calendar this morning. Caridad Pineiro posted an excerpt of my recent release from Ellora's Cave (Power Unleashed, 3rd book Miami Scorcher series) on her blog. It's just a teaser and if you comment you're entered to win a copy of the second book from the series.

And now I'm off to get some serious editing done!

Crock Pot Addiction

I absolutely love Crock Pots. Whoever invented them is a freaking genius. I like cooking but not every day and my Crock Pot has been my continuous savior on craptastic Mondays. While the man is finishing college (December!!) he's working a back-breaking job. Not that he complains and trust me, I'm not complaining either. We're both thankful he has this job. Anyway, I do like cooking, though baking is more my thing, but since the man comes home beat every day I like to have a hot meal waiting. Still, cooking five, sometimes six days a week is not my idea of a fun time and it cuts into my writing (I sound like an evil biatch don't I!). I feel bad admitting this out loud but not cooking is one of the things I actually miss from when he used to travel a lot. Cereal for dinner? Yes please. Awful, I know, but there ya go. One of my dark secrets ;) So, on this Monday where I have a billion things to do, only one of which is actually writing, I'm incredibly thankful for my Crock Pot. The whole house smells absolutely delish right now!

What are you thankful for today? I know it's Monday but everyone has got to be happy for something! Oh, I'm also thankful for the Hazelnut coffee I got on sale this weekend. Yummy.

My alter ego has had a very busy month in case you hadn't noticed and she's a guest blogger at The Book Binge today. I'm chatting about Miami and why I set my latest series with Ellora's Cave there. Oh yeah, I'm also giving away a book so stop by! I don't know if the actual article is posted yet but I do know the review for Power Unleashed is up and it's just lovely :)

Release Day!

Currently thunder is ominously rumbling in the distance. It's weird, it's all sunny skies and rainbows (okay, maybe no rainbows) but this thunder is freaking me out. It's also giving me an excuse not to lace up my tennies and head out for a jog. I slacked off yesterday too so I'm feeling a little guilty but not enough to do anything about it! Maybe once I finish this second third cup of coffee I'll feel the motivation.

I realize I've been pretty quiet lately, only posting announcements, and for that I apologize. I've been working on edits (some mandated, some for my personal deadlines) and guest blogging elsewhere and my brain is feeling fried. After next week, I'll be back to normal.

Until then... today I'm at Desert Island Keepers blogging about paranormal romance (under my alter ego, Savannah Stuart). I'm also giving away a copy of the first book in my Miami Scorcher series from Ellora's Cave since today is.....drum roll please....

My release day (like the title of the blog didn't give it away)!! Power Unleashed, the third book in the series is out! It actually might not be updated on the EC website this early but trust me, it will be available today :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Bring on the Weekend

All day yesterday I thought it was Friday and was soooo excited about today (which is really tomorrow) until Cynthia Eden kindly pointed out I was going out of my mind, lol. Okay, she didn't say that at all. She just told me what day it really was. *Sigh* For some reason this week has been really screwy. I was feeling under the weather the fist part of the week so that's probably why. Tomorrow is my second GCC chapter meeting and I'm really excited. The first one I met a lot of people and it was so much fun so I'm looking forward to this upcoming one. I really love my old chapter but there's definitely something to be said for southern hospitality. People here are just so insanely nice sometimes it makes me pause. That would be one of the big pros about living here :)

As my last reminder, Lisa Marie Rice is still blogging at Desert Island Keepers. Today she's sharing her five DIKs (Desert Island Keepers) and tomorrow she's sharing an excerpt from her upcoming book from Avon Red, Into the Crossfire. Also, today she's giving away a copy of Dangerous Passion and tomorrow, Dangerous Secrets. And if you missed yesterday, there's still time to enter to win a copy of Dangerous Lover (which features the hottest alpha male of all time!)

Now I'm off to get some serious editing done! What are your plans for the weekend?

Correction with Schedule

Correction in blogging schedule: I won't be blogging at Cynthia Eden's tomorrow but I will be there next Monday (the 12th). Looks like I got double booked with someone else, but no worries, I'm still interviewing Lisa Marie Rice at Desert Island Keepers starting on July 8th through the 10th!

She's answering all my burning questions, sharing a hot excerpt from Into the Crossfire, the first book in her upcoming trilogy from Avon Red, and she's giving away a copy of Dangerous Passion, Dangerous Secrets, and Dangerous Lover (one of my fave books). That's a book a day! Hope to see y'all there!

The Week Ahead

This is one of the cheesecake pies I made yesterday. I tried to get a picture of both pies but the other one was devoured too fast. I guess that's a good thing :)

This week I'll be scarce here b/c I'm going to be at various blogs. Here's my schedule:

Wednesday, July 7th, I'll be at Cynthia Eden's blog, participating in her Deadly Days of Summer. I'll be chatting about Men and Cars and giving away the first book in my Miami Scorcher series. (This will be under my alter ego, Savannah Stuart).

July 8-10 = I'll be interviewing Lisa Marie Rice at Desert Island Keepers. She's one of my all time favorite authors and the reason I fell in love with erotic romance! She's also giving away a book a day at the island so stop on by later this week to see what she has to say!

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. The man has today off so we're lounging around the house and watching movies on this dreary, rainy day.

Happy (early) Fourth!

Have a safe and fun Fourth of July!! I still don't know what we're doing but if the rain holds off this weekend, I hope it will involve fireworks :)
